Bulls 7s Win  

Bradford Bulls

Bradford Bulls are one of the most successful teams of the Super League era. Along with Wigan, they have beaten top flight Rugby Union opposition to lift the Middlesex 7s. The Carnegie Floodlit event will be the Bulls’ first taste of nines rugby.

Classy Cas are many pundits favourites to lift the Carnegie Floodlit 9s in this the club’s first foray into the short form of the game. Coach Terry Matterson watched the 2009 event with interest and has plans to upset the Super League form book by winning the £10,000 first prize.


Halifax 9s Win  

Halifax

Halifax will be flying the flag for teams outside of Super League. They won the Northern Rail 9s at Blackpool in July . Matt Calland’s team has excelled in the Co-operative Championship and is anxious to add more silverware. Victory at Headingley is a definite target.


Hull FC 2009  

Hull FC

Hull FC have been automatically entered into the tournament as current holders of the Carnegie Floodlit 9s trophy after their win over Leeds Rhinos with a last minute try in 2009.


Jamaica Rugby League

Jamaica will be playing in the third major nines in 12 months having played in the Cheltenham event in April as well as last year’s Floodlit 9s. The crowd will no doubt warm to this new rugby league nation and rightly so as they play a swashbuckling style that the fans love to watch.


Leeds celebrate  

Leeds Rhinos

The Blue and Amber of Leeds are colours synonymous with skill, speed and success. Finalists in last year’s competition the Rhinos will be looking to go all the way in 2010 and lift the trophy on their own famous ground.


Scotland fans at the 2008 Rugby League World Cup

Scotland played in the 1996 Fijian 9s, hosted a group in the 2000 World Cup and performed well in the 2008 competition in Australia. The Carnegie Floodlit 9s will launch Scotland’s Autumn European Campaign.

The Saints are one of the most exciting teams in world rugby. Their dashing and exciting style is perfect for 9s. 2010 marks their first entry into the competition and they’ll be keen to impress.


Luke George of Wakefield  

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats

The Trinity are one of rugby league’s famous old clubs and are hoping for third time lucky as they have participated in the previous 2 Carnegie Floodlit 9s. The club would relish a showdown with near neighbours Castleford and preferably in the final.


Welsh player  

Wales

Rugby League in the principality is at a peak not seen for many decades. At all levels the sport is booming. The red dragon of Wales is keen to celebrate its full inclusion as world board members by lifting the Carnegie Floodlit 9s. Superbly coached by Iestyn Harris the current European champions will provide superb entertainment on Nines Night.


Warrington 2009  

Warrington Wolves

Warrington Wolves secured their place in the 2010 Carnegie Floodlit 9s by winning the All Golds Cup at the Cheltenham Rugby Festival in April 2010. A young Warrington side wowed the South West crowd with their speed and flare. Tournament Director Lionel Hurst was thrilled with the outcome; "Warrington were magnificent both on and off the field and made many friends in Cheltenham, they now have their sights set on winning the Carnegie Floodlit 9s as the cup winning culture develops through the club".


Wigan 7s Win  

Wigan Warriors

Wigan are one of two competing teams to have defeated Rugby Union’s finest at the Twickenham sevens. This illustrious club has won every honour in the game but have yet to add a nines title.
