Record Prize Fund for 9s --- Monday, 3 May 2010
The winners of this year’s Carnegie Floodlit 9s will walk away with a record purse for winning the competition. The winning squad will be presented with a cheque for £10,000 which represents a 100% increase on 2009. Event Director Neal Coupland revealed that the winner-takes-all philosophy was one that the players responded to.

Quick Rules of 9s Rugby

Rugby League Rules except;

9 Players per side with unlimited interchange

7½ Minutes each half, teams change ends at half time but no interval

A Drop Goal (2 points) is used to convert a try (4 points)

A Tap on half way restarts the game after a score

10 Metres forward of an infringement is where a tap is taken when a penalty is awarded

2 Minutes is the time an offending player spends in the sin bin
